At Pair A Dice Outfitters, DBA Avalanche Outfitters, we deliver a true Western wilderness hunting experience in the heart of Colorado’s White River National Forest. Operating under Forest Service permits, our camps are located in the Maroon Bells–Snowmass Wilderness and the Coal Basin Proposed Wilderness Area—entirely roadless and non-motorized. We guarantee that you will not legally see motorized vehicles in or near any of our twelve exclusively permitted camp locations.

Our horseback-accessed camps sit between 8,000 and 11,200 feet in elevation and offer exceptional opportunities for elk, mule deer, black bear, Shiras moose in GMU 043, bighorn sheep in S25, and mountain goat in G12. We provide fully guided, semi-guided, drop camp hunts, along with professional horse packing and game retrieval services, all based near the historic town of Redstone, Colorado.

Each camp is a private, traditional Western wall tent set up reserved exclusively for your group, never mixed with other hunters. Camps are fully equipped with cots, sleeping pads, seating, cooking equipment, and horse-supported pack-in, pack-out, and resupply services. We also provide GPS units and historical harvest data to help position you for the best possible opportunity. With twelve camp locations to choose from, we match each hunter’s physical ability and goals to the terrain that offers the highest chance of success.
