About
Family-Owned Colorado Outfitting Since 1961
Established in 1961, JML Outfitters is a third-generation, family-owned operation with deep roots in Colorado’s hunting and wilderness traditions. Today, owner Marie Haskett continues the legacy begun by her grandfather, Glynn Fraser, guiding hunters and guests through the same trails leading into the legendary Flat Tops Wilderness.
Located in Northwest Colorado within the White River National Forest—home to North America’s largest elk herd—JML Outfitters offers exceptional elk, mule deer, and moose hunting in Unit 24, approximately 30 miles from Meeker. Our base sits at 7,600 feet, bordering national forest, with camps reaching elevations up to 10,500 feet in rugged, game-rich country.
We offer archery, muzzleloader, and rifle hunts, with options for both guided hunts and fully equipped drop camps. All camps are located in or near the Flat Tops and accessed by horseback, placing hunters close to established elk travel corridors. Hunting from camp is done on foot, ensuring a fair-chase experience, while horses are used for packing in gear and packing out game.
The terrain is classic Colorado high country—steep mountains, rock slides, heavy black timber, and open parks of varying size. Rifle season often brings cold and snowy conditions, creating prime late season hunting opportunities and true mountain adventure.
Beyond hunting, JML Outfitters offers the perfect mountain getaway. Guests can stay in anything from a cozy cottage to a spacious log cabin and enjoy horseback rides deep into the Rockies or outstanding cold-water fishing. With 111 miles of streams and 757 acres of natural lakes, the White River Valley provides exceptional fishing for cutthroat, rainbow, and brook trout. We also offer a kid’s camp.
Whether you’re seeking a serious western hunt or a peaceful escape into the Colorado high country, JML Outfitters delivers tradition, experience, and authentic Rocky Mountain adventure.
